Here’s a little bit about myself and why I decided to create this practice. Working with individuals that are struggling with their mental health is my passion. As a teen, I lacked self-confidence and was extremely insecure. This led to unhealthy habits and falling into peer pressure. I yearned for the attention and affection of others to mask the lack of love that I had for myself. Throughout all of this, I never really had an adult or professional that I could confide in or ask for help. Fast forward 20 years, my experience while working with adolescents has allowed me to see how impactful it is when a child/teen has a trusted adult in their life. This journey led me to working within the school systems as a counselor for the last 10 years. I have helped children and teens find hope when other interventions may have failed. Working with youth also allows me the privilege of working with their families. Involving caregivers and parents is crucial for treatment to be successful.
Life is too short to surrender to bad relationships, let trauma control us, or be angry/anxious all the time. I look forward to working with you and helping you be the best version of yourself!
